Start — Suit-up
Intro & safety: allergy check, bee behaviour briefing, how to move around the hives; veil, suit and gloves on with guidance.
Step into the world of bees with local keepers, explore natural hives, and taste pure Ceylon honey with freshly made tea-time bites.
Hands-on apiary visit with local apiarists: a short safety briefing and gear-up, then a calm approach using a smoker. Open a colony and handle frames to observe hive activity; identify workers, drones and the queen. Learn to check brood pattern and hive health with a varroa board demo, and see honey supers and cappings.
Watch uncapping and extraction, then filtration and bottling, followed by a tasting of raw honey varietals with tea-time snacks. Protective gear is provided and an allergy-safe zone and first-aid are available on site. Photos are allowed from a safe distance.
